Believe
Capture the magic
Take a photo, or choose one you already have, pick who visited, and Believe places them into the scene, working out where they should stand, how big they should be, and which way the light falls on them.

What it does
The hard part is making it look like they were really there
Anyone can drop a cut-out onto a photo. Believe spends its effort on the things that give a composite away: the placement, the scale, the direction of the light, and the shadow.
Placed, not pasted
Believe reads the photo to find who is in it, then works out where a visitor could stand, how tall they should be, and stands them on the floor rather than floating them in the middle of the frame.
Lit like the room
It estimates which way the light falls in your photo, throws the shadow the right way, warms the visitor to match the room, and turns them so their lit side faces the light.
A choice of visitors
Santa in six different poses: kneeling by the bed, leaving presents, or a finger to his lips. The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy stand alongside him.
Yours to keep
Save the result straight to your photo library at full resolution, or share it from the app. What you see while you are arranging it is exactly what gets saved.
Nothing leaves your phone
There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Believe has no networking code in it at all, so your photos cannot go anywhere even by accident.
Adjust anything
Every automatic decision is a starting point. Drag to reposition, pinch or use the sliders for size, and tune opacity, blur, shadow, warmth and edge softness by hand.
Works best with
Believe can place a visitor into almost any photo, but three things in the shot make the result markedly more convincing.
Room beside them
Somewhere for your visitor to stand, rather than on top of the person already in the photo.
A little floor in shot
Something for them to stand on, so they are planted in the room instead of hovering.
Light from one side
A lamp or a doorway gives the shadow a direction to fall, and tells Believe which way to turn them.
Your photos stay on your phone
Believe is an app for photographs of children asleep in their own homes, so this matters more here than it does in most apps. Every part of it runs on your device: choosing the photo, finding who is in it, working out the lighting, and building the finished image.
There is no account to create, no server to upload to, and no analytics of any kind. The app contains no networking code whatsoever, so there is nowhere for a photo to be sent even accidentally.
